The Central Bank of Peru published updated remittance statistics showing transfers sent by Peruvians abroad totalled USD 1,341 million in the second quarter of 2025, the highest nominal level recorded since the series began, and 8.3% higher than the same quarter of 2024. The United States remained the main country of origin for remittances, which were equivalent to 1.7% of GDP in the quarter, similar to the ratio in the same period a year earlier.
