The State Bank of Vietnam published an update on the 21st congress of the Party Cell of its Legal Department for the 2025–2027 term, covering a review of the 2022–2025 term, the proposed work programme for the new term, and the election of the Party Cell’s leadership. The review highlighted the Legal Department’s role in advising the Governor on state management through law in monetary, banking and foreign exchange matters, and in legal drafting work linked to major instruments and initiatives, including the State Bank Law, the amended Anti-Money Laundering Law, work related to extending Resolution 42/2017/QH14 and implementing State Bank tasks under Resolution 63/2022/QH15, and the development of the Law on Credit Institutions and its latest amendments. The congress also discussed internal measures on administrative reform, work processes and Party organisation activities. The update noted that the National Assembly has adopted amendments to the Law on Credit Institutions, with the Government expected to direct the State Bank of Vietnam and other agencies to issue implementing guidance and organise implementation. The Legal Department is expected to continue contributing to this follow-on work, and the new term’s programme is to incorporate Resolution 66-NQ/TW on renewing lawmaking and law enforcement.
