The Algeria Market Authority hosted two meetings with the Saudi Capital Market Authority to exchange expertise on financial technology, crowdfunding and sukuk market development. Held under the Algerian-Saudi Supreme Coordination Council’s trade and economy committee, the discussions brought together regulators, fintech laboratories and Algerian capital market participants. The first meeting compared Algeria FinLab’s experience with Saudi fintech initiatives, including XLAB, and reviewed Algeria’s crowdfunding regulatory regime and ways to promote financial services. A second workshop examined legal and regulatory frameworks for sukuk issuance and investment, related supervision and control mechanisms, and Saudi methodologies for developing the market, with participation from the Algiers Stock Exchange, Algeria Clearing and market intermediaries.
