El Salvador's Financial System Superintendency certified a board decision authorising Banco Internacional de Costa Rica, S.A., domiciled in Panama, to maintain its Information Office in El Salvador for an additional two years. The extension runs for two years from 22 September 2025. The Information Office may operate as an information centre for clients or place funds in El Salvador through loans or investments, but it may not carry out deposit-taking or other passive operations in the country. The authorisation must be published at the office’s expense in the Official Gazette and in two national print media outlets, or via another digital publication platform with equal or greater reach, or on its website, in line with the applicable legal framework.
