The Dominican Republic Pensions Superintendency took part as an invited guest in the 52nd General Assembly and annual meeting of the Federation of Ibero-American Stock Exchanges in Madrid, a forum bringing together representatives from 23 exchanges and capital-markets experts. The event agenda covered technology, regulation, cybersecurity and sustainability. Over three days, Pensions Superintendent Francisco A. Torres followed a programme focused on topics linked to improving pension fund investment in the Dominican securities market and supporting affiliates of the Dominican Pension System. Participation included panels and conferences on practices to attract new issuers, the role of investment banking and the development of potential applications, alongside sessions on artificial intelligence in exchange business, smart regulation and the agility versus security trade-off in Ibero-American markets, geopolitical shifts, and ways to boost investment in Latin American assets; the Dominican delegation also included Securities Market Superintendent Ernesto Bournigal Read.
