The Superintendency of Banks of Panama reported that Superintendent Milton Ayón Wong took part in the 2025 Annual Meetings of the Association of Supervisors of Banks of the Americas (ASBA), held in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago from 21 to 24 October, which focused on exchanging policy views on current and emerging challenges for the regional and global financial system. The programme included the 116th Board of Directors session, a high-level ASBA-BCBS-FSI meeting, and the 28th Annual Assembly. Discussions covered macrofinancial developments in Latin America and the Caribbean, cross-border cooperation, developments in payment systems including cryptoassets, stablecoins and central bank digital currency (CBDC), bank insolvency regimes, and the effectiveness of supervision. Ayón Wong attended alongside Kathy de Guardia, Director of International Affairs and Projects.
