The Hong Kong Insurance Authority has announced IA Files, a four-episode TV drama series co-produced with Radio Television Hong Kong, intended to explain the IA’s regulatory, investigative and enforcement work and to deliver consumer education messages on taking out insurance. Adapted from real-life complaints and investigation cases, the series covers conduct issues including failure to explain key policy features to customers, inducement of policy replacements, unlicensed selling and misappropriation of premiums. The IA linked the initiative to its seven years of regulating insurance intermediaries and its efforts to raise conduct and professional standards, including adherence to the principle of treating customers fairly and acting in clients’ best interests. IA Files will air on RTHK TV31 at 7pm on Saturdays for four weeks from 27 September 2025, with simultaneous streaming on RTHK’s website and mobile app and later availability on the IA’s YouTube channel.
