The Belgium Financial Services and Markets Authority clarified that from 15 July 2026 the banker’s oath and its disciplinary regime will extend to all targeted bankers, covering about 30,000 people who will be personally liable for acting with integrity and professionalism and treating clients honestly and fairly.

The Belgium Financial Services and Markets Authority said the banker’s oath will apply to about 30,000 bankers from 15 July 2026. The regime requires bankers to act with integrity and professionalism and to treat clients honestly and fairly.
