The Albania Financial Services Authority hosted a delegation from the Albanian Parliament’s Committee on Economy, Employment and Finance for an information meeting on key developments in non-bank financial markets and the authority’s progress in aligning Albania’s legal framework with European Union legislation. Executive Director Adela Xhemali outlined the authority’s work and 2026 priorities, including supervised market trends, international developments and assessments, insurance market indicators, supervisory directions for regulated companies, and institutional priorities on digitalisation and consumer protection, alongside the authority’s role in Albania’s EU accession negotiations. Discussion with MPs also covered risk factors under a new regulation, with particular focus on the newly effective claims history factor, as well as insurance contracts, digitalisation platforms, and further work to fully align the legal and regulatory framework with European directives. The parties agreed to hold such meetings periodically as part of ongoing institutional cooperation linked to Albania’s European integration process.
