The Tanzania Insurance Regulatory Authority (TIRA) is participating in the 11th Zanzibar International Trade Fair to deliver insurance education and support Zanzibar’s commemoration of the 61st anniversary of the Revolution. The outreach focuses on helping visitors understand insurance products and the practical benefits of insurance coverage. TIRA staff highlighted that the fair brings together members of the public who want to understand the terms, criteria and legal requirements relevant to providing insurance services and operating in the sector. As the event entered its 11th day, TIRA and its stakeholders also handed over a symbolic cheque of TZS 321 million to Zanzibar’s Second Vice President, Hemed Suleiman Abdulla. The fair runs for 15 days at the Dimani Fumba grounds in Unguja, with the anniversary celebrations scheduled to culminate on 12 January 2025 at Gombani Stadium in Pemba.
