The National Bank of Bulgaria and the American Chamber of Commerce in Bulgaria (AmCham) signed a memorandum of cooperation, setting a framework to deepen joint work with a focus on Bulgaria’s planned accession to the euro area from 1 January 2026 and on improving information to businesses and households about the long-term effects of joining. The memorandum was signed by National Bank of Bulgaria Governor Dimitar Radev and AmCham Chief Executive Officer Ivan Mihaylov. The agreement builds on an existing partnership on initiatives intended to strengthen dialogue between institutions and business, improve competitiveness of the Bulgarian economy, and support the country’s European integration. After the signing, the two leadership teams discussed further joint initiatives, including new forums and discussions on key economic topics similar to a recent event on competitiveness in the context of euro area accession.
