The Central Reserve Bank of El Salvador marked the second anniversary of its Mi Viaje Financiero bus, an interactive financial education initiative aimed at students aged 13 to 18. The bank said the programme has travelled across all 14 departments and 96 districts, reaching 58,147 people over two years, of whom 51.3% were women. It forms part of the institution’s work with the education community, one of the priority segments identified in the National Financial Education Strategy. In 2026 so far, the bus has visited 27 districts and reached 11,297 beneficiaries, mainly in Santa Ana, Sonsonate, Ahuachapán and La Libertad. The anniversary visit took place at the Complejo Educativo Católico Doctora María Julia Hernández, where 561 students took part. Through interactive stations and virtual reality, the programme covers savings, small everyday expenses, ATM use, Transfer365, payments using NPE and QR codes, and POS use.
