The Thailand Office of Insurance Commission (OIC) held discussions with a delegation from the Lao PDR Ministry of Finance to exchange supervisory and system-development approaches for health insurance, insurance for electric vehicles (EVs), and the use of electronic insurance policies (e-Policies). The exchange covered building a more sustainable and accessible health insurance ecosystem, developing supervisory guidelines for EV insurance, and promoting e-Policies to improve service efficiency and align insurance operations with technological change. The OIC also outlined developments in Thailand’s insurance sector, including Thai insurers’ expanding investment in Lao PDR, positioning the dialogue as a basis for deeper regulatory cooperation and regional knowledge-sharing.
