The Indonesia Financial Services Authority published a press release on its webinar “Kartini Masa Kini: Perempuan, Pengetahuan, dan Perubahan”, which focused on strengthening Indonesian women’s role in national development amid rapid digital transformation. The discussion linked women’s contribution to financial sector stability, economic growth and social resilience, and was attended by Chair of the Board of Commissioners Friderica Widyasari Dewi, Minister of Communication and Digital Meutya Hafid and more than 5,000 online participants. Friderica said women’s leadership is strategically important across households, professional life and the financial services sector, and stressed the need to strengthen women’s financial welfare and help maintain trust as the financial services sector transforms toward Indonesia Emas 2045. She also emphasized equipping women with literacy, knowledge, expertise and skills that support family welfare and protect them from scams and fraud. Meutya said women have an expanding role in the national economic and digital ecosystem but face challenges including financial crimes that often target women, making both access and protection important as digital transformation broadens. The Indonesia Financial Services Authority said women’s empowerment through stronger capacity, access and protection is key to inclusive, resilient and sustainable national development, and that it will continue strengthening cooperation with stakeholders to support women as agents of change in national economic development.
