The Bank of the Lao PDR led participation by the province’s banking sector in Luang Prabang’s 2026 traditional boat racing festival. Commercial banks and nonbank financial institutions supported festival activities and promoted their financial products to attendees. The initiative brought together the central bank’s northern branch in Luang Prabang, local financial institutions and other provincial stakeholders. It was presented as supporting cultural preservation, social responsibility and engagement between financial sector employees and the public.
