Mexico's National Banking and Securities Commission (CNBV) published its quarterly Financial Saving and Financing Report with data through September 2024, alongside a public database covering statistics across Mexico’s financial system intermediation channels. The report puts total financial saving (domestic and external) at MXN 32.4 trillion, equivalent to 94.4% of GDP, and total financing at MXN 33.1 trillion, equivalent to 96.5% of GDP. The database provides detailed information on the components of financial saving, including intermediaries’ funding, holdings of fixed-income securities and fiduciary stock exchange certificates, and external saving, as well as financing components such as credit portfolios, domestic debt issuance and fiduciary stock exchange certificates, and external financing. It also reports that domestic financing to the private sector stood at 36.7% of GDP in September 2024.
