The Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA) published the Consumer Advisory Panel’s 2024-25 Annual Report, setting out how the panel provided consumer perspectives to inform FSRA’s strategic approach and related work, including consumer research, policy initiatives, and consumer education. The report highlights the panel’s participation in eight internal FSRA topic-specific working groups focused on frameworks and products to strengthen protection for vulnerable consumers, its evaluation of FSRA’s Financial Professionals Title Protection Framework and Check Credential Tool, and seven written submissions covering auto insurance, life insurance, mortgage brokering, and principles-based regulation. It also notes six collaborative meetings aimed at reflecting consumer perspectives in the development of potential new policy initiatives, and the panel’s input into FSRA’s strategic direction through a written submission and presentation to the FSRA Board of Directors in response to FSRA’s proposed 2025-26 Statement of Priorities.
