The Tanzania Insurance Regulatory Authority (TIRA) coordinated a training session for members of the National Insurance Board in Zanzibar to explain the regulator’s activities, deepen the board’s understanding of the insurance sector, and gather feedback. The programme, held at the ZURA conference venue and attended by TIRA’s senior leadership, management and staff, covered the agricultural insurance scheme, Universal Health Insurance and bond-related issues. Presentations on health and agricultural insurance focused on how the initiatives are implemented, the laws that govern them, consumer protection and other key matters, with board members highlighting the role of the board in advising TIRA as it pursues its sector development objectives.
