The Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan, together with the Azerbaijan Banks Association, held Fintech Summit 2025 in Baku on 24–25 June, convening domestic specialists and international experts to discuss digital currencies, modern banking products, cybersecurity and the latest fintech trends. The event opened with remarks from Deputy Chairman Vusal Khalilov on the central bank’s role and initiatives in developing the digital financial ecosystem and the strategic importance of cross-sector cooperation. The programme then continued with seven panel discussions, including sessions on the digital transformation of financial services, artificial intelligence and data, the impact of innovation in the digital era, the intermediary role of regulators in strengthening the innovation ecosystem, the role of legal regulation in bank–fintech cooperation and related developments, and legal frameworks for cybersecurity in the financial sector. Participants included public authorities, commercial banks, fintech companies, payment technology providers, academic representatives and senior figures from international organisations.
