The Central Bank of Montenegro (CBCG) published an update on Governor Irena Radovic’s meeting with De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) President Olaf Sleijpen, focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation and support for the CBCG in Montenegro’s European Union integration process. Discussions centred on a Needs Assessment project led by DNB in partnership with the National Bank of Belgium, which will assess the CBCG’s organisational alignment with European System of Central Banks (ESCB) and Eurosystem standards. The project is intended to deliver concrete recommendations and an implementation roadmap to prepare the CBCG in regulatory, institutional and organisational terms for future ESCB membership upon Montenegro’s accession to the EU, building on governance and technical arrangements defined during an initial mission in June.
