The Bank of Spain and the Bank of Portugal held a bilateral meeting at the Bank of Spain’s headquarters in Madrid aimed at strengthening institutional relations, addressing topics of mutual interest and forging agreements and alliances in multiple areas. The delegations were led by Governors José Luis Escrivá and Mario Centeno and included Deputy Governors Soledad Núñez and Clara Raposo. Discussions covered economics, financial stability, financial conduct supervision, statistics, banking supervision, information technology, and environmental, social and governance goals, with meetings held between relevant teams to explore channels for collaboration. The delegations also included senior directors from both central banks across these functions.
