The Australian Prudential Regulation Authority published its Quarterly Superannuation Performance for the March 2025 quarter, reporting total superannuation assets of AUD 4.1 trillion as at 31 March 2025, down 0.8 per cent over the quarter with AUD 2.9 trillion held in APRA-regulated funds. Year on year, total assets increased 5.9 per cent to AUD 4,129.0 billion, including a 7.4 per cent rise in APRA-regulated assets to AUD 2,890.8 billion. The release also shows self-managed super fund assets up 2.7 per cent to AUD 1,005.5 billion, exempt public sector superannuation schemes assets up 2.2 per cent to AUD 173.4 billion, and life office statutory fund assets up 5.0 per cent to AUD 59.3 billion. For entities with more than six members, total contributions increased 14.4 per cent over the year to AUD 202.8 billion, comprising employer contributions of AUD 147.1 billion (up 10.3 per cent) and member contributions of AUD 55.7 billion (up 26.9 per cent); benefit payments rose 11.6 per cent to AUD 127.5 billion, and net contribution flows increased 13.4 per cent to AUD 67.0 billion (contributions plus net benefit transfers, less benefit payments).
