The Tanzania Insurance Regulatory Authority held a briefing with media editors in Dar es Salaam, presenting a four-year (2021–2024) update on insurance sector developments and urging closer cooperation with the press to expand public insurance awareness. The session, coordinated with the Treasury Registrar’s Office, featured a presentation by the Commissioner of Insurance, Dr Baghayo Saqware, and was attended by more than 40 editors and 50 journalists. Saqware encouraged journalists to act as well-informed spokespeople on insurance matters and to use their platforms to provide accurate, reliable information that helps citizens understand the role of insurance. TIRA indicated it will continue running programmes for journalists to sustain and strengthen this collaboration.
