The Australian Securities and Investments Commission secured further New South Wales Supreme Court orders to preserve and protect assets held through the Deckchair Trust, which is associated with accountant and former solicitor Christopher Malcolm Edwards. The court appointed provisional liquidators as receivers and managers of the trust’s assets, required Edwards to provide its books and records, and joined him as a party to the proceedings for the limited purpose of obtaining orders concerning the trust. ASIC sought the urgent orders after learning that Edwards had purportedly replaced Great Northern Morayfield Pty Ltd with himself as trustee on July 23, 2026. The court had previously appointed provisional liquidators to 12 companies associated with Edwards and placed assets held by Great Northern Morayfield as trustee for the Deckchair Trust under interim receivership and management. ASIC’s investigation remains ongoing.
