The Andorran government has approved a comprehensive accounting plan for all insurance entities domiciled in Andorra, replacing the sector’s previously fragmented framework with common rules for recording, measuring and presenting financial information. The plan will first apply to annual accounts for the financial year ending Dec. 31, 2027. The framework sets accounting and valuation criteria for assets and liabilities, requirements for preparing annual accounts, standardized financial reporting models and a chart of accounts tailored to insurance activities. It is intended to make insurers’ financial information more consistent and comparable while supporting entity management and supervision by the Andorran Financial Authority.
