Leslie admitted signing a statutory declaration containing statements he knew were false to purchase a home under an affordable homeownership program despite not meeting its eligibility requirements. Leslie breached an occupancy covenant by renting the unit to a third party less than a month after purchase and engaged in deceptive dealing by acting as his own agent and receiving a commission. He returned the unit to BC Housing in 2022, along with the net commission and rental income. Following the suspension, he must undergo enhanced brokerage supervision for one year and complete remedial education at his own expense. He may not work as an unlicensed assistant during the suspension.
