South Korea's Financial Services Commission reported that 1.385 million people completed enrollment in the Youth Future Savings Account following its initial application period from June 22 to July 3. Of 2.343 million applicants, 1.547 million passed the personal and household income eligibility review. About 983,000 participants, or 70.9%, enrolled in the standard option, while 389,000, or 28.1%, entered the preferential option. Among the 796,000 applicants who did not pass screening, 409,000 had not obtained household members' consent for income verification or submitted required household documentation. A further 211,000 did not meet the personal income criteria and 165,000 exceeded the household income threshold. The commission and the Korea Inclusive Finance Agency are considering an additional enrollment period in September 2026 and will announce the schedule and procedures. Applicants who missed the consent or documentation steps during the initial period may apply for reassessment if the additional period proceeds.
