The Central Bank of Bahrain partnered with SWIFT to hold Bahrain’s annual SWIFT national user group meeting, bringing together local SWIFT users to review developments in cross-border payments and messaging standards. Held on 8 April 2025 in Manama, the session drew over 60 representatives from licensed financial institutions and covered SWIFT updates including SWIFT’s Global Payment Innovation (GPI) and the Pre-Val service, which pre-validates payment data to reduce errors in payment messages. The agenda also addressed the requirements for ISO 20022 certification and referenced the objectives of the Group of Twenty (G20).
