The Egypt Financial Regulatory Authority released its latest April 2025 statistical report covering capital market and non-banking financial activities under its supervision, reporting total financing of EGP 384bn and providing end-April snapshots for insurance activity, outstanding MSME finance and filings in the movable collateral registry. The EGP 384bn total comprised EGP 180.6bn in equity issuances, EGP 35.2bn in non-equity securities issuances, EGP 52.1bn in financial leasing contracts, EGP 31.8bn in financing to medium, small and micro enterprises, EGP 22bn in consumer finance, EGP 48.7bn in discounted instruments and EGP 13.6bn in mortgage finance. By end-April 2025, the movable collateral registry recorded EGP 3.4trn in filings, outstanding MSME finance balances stood at EGP 84.9bn, insurance premiums totalled EGP 38.4bn (EGP 22.1bn property and liability and EGP 16.3bn life and savings) and claims paid reached EGP 18.4bn (EGP 8.9bn property and liability and EGP 9.5bn life and savings); investments of private insurance funds were EGP 8.7bn.
