The Reserve Bank of India has revised requirements for urban co-operative banks on disclosing and applying interest rates for deposits, including bulk deposits. From Oct. 1, 2026, deposit rates must strictly follow the schedule disclosed in advance on each bank’s website. Bulk deposit rates must be posted on the website at 10 a.m. on every business day, with a grace period until 10:10 a.m. Rates for all deposits must be uniform across branches and customers, with no difference in interest paid on deposits of a similar amount accepted on the same date.
