The Central Bank of Taiwan published February 2026 turnover statistics for the Taipei foreign exchange market, reporting total net trading volume of USD 755.6 billion after removing double counting from interbank trades. Average daily turnover was USD 54.0 billion. Customer-facing transactions totalled USD 506.3 billion (67.0% of net turnover), comprising USD 249.3 billion with domestic banks and USD 152.1 billion with foreign banks, while interbank transactions were USD 354.2 billion (46.9%). By currency pair, NTD/USD accounted for USD 365.9 billion (48.4%) and USD/RMB for USD 94.0 billion (12.4%), with third-currency trades totalling USD 376.9 billion (49.9%). By instrument, foreign exchange swaps were USD 371.1 billion (49.1%) and spot transactions were USD 337.8 billion (44.7%). Direct dealing represented USD 502.5 billion (66.5%) versus USD 253.1 billion (33.5%) through brokers. Separately, banks’ turnover in interest rate swaps and interest rate options was USD 6.2 billion and USD 3.9 billion, respectively.
