The Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission published its planned programme for Global Money Week 2026 (16–22 March), setting out a series of educational initiatives aimed at improving young people’s financial literacy and decision-making. The activities align with the OECD-led campaign’s 2026 theme, “Smart Money Talks”, and focus on practical issues such as budgeting, understanding investment products, and protection from financial risks and scams. The programme began with a lecture by CySEC Vice-Chairman Panikkos Vakkou at UCLan Cyprus and includes further lectures and presentations at schools and universities delivered by CySEC officials. It also covers the development of educational and training materials for schools with the Ministry of Education, Sport and Youth under the Cyprus Financial Literacy and Education Committee (CyFLEC), a social media awareness campaign, and the publication of articles, interviews and educational guides, alongside a podcast collaboration with the Financial Wellbeing Institute. CySEC will also notify supervised entities of its participation and the campaign’s key messages, encouraging them to undertake their own educational initiatives during the week.
