The HKMA reiterated that banks will not send SMS or emails with embedded hyperlinks directing customers to bank websites to carry out transactions, nor request sensitive personal information such as login passwords or one-time passwords by phone, email or SMS. Individuals who provided personal information or conducted transactions via the fraudulent sites or login screens are advised to contact DBS Bank (Hong Kong) Limited using the details in its press release and report the matter to the Hong Kong Police Force Crime Wing Information Centre.
