The Ghana National Insurance Commission highlighted the role of financial literacy in consumer protection during the launch of LevelA Ghana, a free digital financial education platform developed by Prudence Foundation and launched by Prudential Life Insurance Ghana. The Commission said consumers need sufficient knowledge to understand insurance products, policy terms and rights, reducing their exposure to misinformation, fraud and poor financial decisions. LevelA provides self-paced education through a mobile application and website, covering budgeting, savings, financial planning, debt management, insurance and fraud prevention. The Commission said the platform complements its market conduct and public education agenda by helping consumers assess policy benefits and exclusions, compare products and understand the risks and obligations associated with financial services.
