The Alberta Securities Commission (ASC) issued an order barring James Domenic Floreani and Jayconomics Inc. from participating in Alberta’s capital market in specified capacities for two years after finding breaches of the Securities Act (Alberta) linked to online promotion of securities without required disclosure. An ASC panel found in April 2025 that multiple posts made by Floreani on YouTube, X, and Patreon did not clearly and conspicuously disclose they were made or disseminated on behalf of four Alberta issuers. The order imposes an administrative penalty of CAD 30,000 and costs of CAD 10,185.10, and prohibits the respondents, for two years from the decision date or until the administrative penalty is paid (whichever is later), from engaging in investor relations activities, advising in securities or derivatives, or disseminating to the public any material promoting securities or derivatives.
