The State Bank of Vietnam published an event update on the preparatory session of the Communist Party of Vietnam’s 14th National Congress in Hanoi, where delegates approved the congress programme and key working and election regulations and confirmed delegate eligibility. The session was chaired by Tran Thanh Man, Politburo member and Chairman of the National Assembly. Delegates elected a 16-member presidium drawn from the Politburo, a five-member secretariat, and a 13-member committee to verify delegate qualifications, and unanimously approved the committee’s report that all 1,586 summoned delegates were qualified. The programme also included a visit to President Ho Chi Minh’s mausoleum, wreath-laying at the Monument to Heroes and Martyrs, and a minute of silence in remembrance of late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and deceased members of the 13th Party Central Committee, followed by document study in the afternoon.
