The National Bank of Moldova published banking system statistics on cash operations, showing that cumulative cash withdrawals from banks’ cash desks totalled MDL 123,915.8 million in January–August 2025 and exceeded cumulative cash receipts of MDL 120,115.1 million by MDL 3,800.7 million. Cash receipts rose by MDL 5,768.9 million (+5.0%) compared with the same period of the previous year, led by receipts from the sale of consumer goods of MDL 69,838.2 million (58.1% of total receipts, +4.2%) and cash credited to individuals’ current and deposit accounts of MDL 11,992.3 million (+17.3%). Cash withdrawals increased by MDL 5,766.2 million (+4.9%) year on year; the totals include transactions in commemorative coins.
