The National Credit Union Administration has launched a second round of proposed regulatory changes under its Deregulation Project and opened consultation on four notice of proposed rulemakings intended to clarify guidance and remove obsolete, duplicative, or overly burdensome requirements from the Code of Federal Regulations. The proposals would: revise segregated deposit and collateral requirements for suretyship and guaranty arrangements under 12 CFR 701.20(c)(3) and 701.20(d); remove a requirement for loans to other credit unions under 12 CFR 701.25(b) that NCUA describes as duplicative of statute and unduly burdensome; update catastrophic act reporting requirements under 12 CFR 748.1(b); and remove overly prescriptive, obsolete provisions related to accuracy of advertising and notice of insured status under 12 CFR 740.0 and 740.5. Stakeholders are invited to submit comments on each proposal via the Federal Rulemaking Portal.
