The Central Bank of Cyprus has published its summary balance sheet as of May 31, 2026, showing total assets and total liabilities of EUR 26.669 billion. The release provides a snapshot of the central bank’s financial position within the Eurosystem at month-end. On the asset side, the largest items were intra-Eurosystem claims of EUR 16.988 billion and euro-denominated securities issued by euro area residents of EUR 6.035 billion. Other notable assets included gold and gold receivables of EUR 1.786 billion, foreign currency claims on non-euro area residents of EUR 1.123 billion and euro claims on non-euro area residents of EUR 578.878 million. On the liability side, the largest items were euro area credit institutions’ deposits related to monetary policy operations at EUR 16.726 billion, banknotes in circulation at EUR 3.256 billion and euro liabilities to other euro area residents at EUR 2.825 billion, including EUR 2.613 billion owed to general government. Revaluation accounts stood at EUR 1.791 billion, provisions at EUR 631.571 million and capital and reserves at EUR 345.047 million.
