The Guernsey Financial Services Commission has released a beta version of its online Applications and Authorisations Portal, moving key licensing and authorisation submissions onto a secure digital platform intended to streamline the application process for financial services businesses in the Bailiwick. Following five months of industry testing, the portal introduces guardrails and conditionality to support the quality and completeness of submissions and enables online collaboration and communication both before submission and during the Commission’s post-submission engagement. Application types now available through the portal include standard and fast track investment licences, an insurance business licence and a fiduciary discretionary exemption; the portal is accessed via the Commission’s Online Services page alongside its Online Submissions, Personal Questionnaire and Director Registration Regime portals. The Commission said its risk-based approach to assessing applications will remain unchanged and invited feedback as further application types are added over the coming months. Registration is open to any user, including applicants that are not existing licensees or current users of the Commission’s other portals.
