The National Credit Union Administration published its 2023 Credit Union Diversity Self-Assessment Results Report, presenting aggregated findings from its voluntary diversity, equity, and inclusion self-assessment for federally insured credit unions. The release is intended to help credit unions benchmark their inclusion practices and reflects the agency’s review of system-wide trends. For survey year 2023, credit unions could submit a self-assessment between October 1, 2023, and February 15, 2024, and the NCUA received 334 submissions. The self-assessment measures practices against five core standards, and the aggregated results highlighted improvement needs in supplier diversity, greater transparency through publication of diversity and inclusion information, and developing and implementing sustainable, measurable diversity, equity, and inclusion strategic plans. The 2024 survey year is open through January 31, 2025. To further protect confidentiality and keep responses separate from the NCUA’s supervision program, Optimal Solutions Group, LLC has been contracted as a third-party vendor to administer the survey and provide support services.
