The Slovenia Securities Market Agency has set up a test reporting environment for entities preparing to offer individual investment accounts under the forthcoming Law on Individual Investment Accounts (ZINR), and outlined how providers will be authorised and granted reporting access. A production reporting environment for providers will go live on 27 February 2026, while offering such accounts will require entry in a new public register based on an agency decision. Future providers headquartered in another EU member state can use the test environment to demonstrate compliance with ZINR technical requirements by obtaining an authentication element and a message-encryption key and submitting at least one report. Slovenian providers will obtain access to the ZINR reporting module only after being entered in the register. The agency will establish the register by 5 March 2026, when the law starts to apply and the first registrations will be made; it will be published on the agency’s website and updated regularly. Eligible providers include investment firms, management companies and certain banks already providing investment services in Slovenia, as well as EU firms providing investment services in Slovenia directly or via branches.
