The Bank of Italy has confirmed the 2024-2025 edition of the school prize “Inventiamo una banconota”, promoted with Italy’s Ministry of Education and Merit, inviting students to design an imaginary banknote around the theme “Making your dreams come true, investing in yourself: the economy at the service of young people”. The initiative is positioned as a financial education exercise focused on how individual financial awareness and learning can support personal goals. The competition will include specific topics tailored to each education level. Three classes will be selected as winners, one each from primary school, lower secondary school and upper secondary school, receiving a commemorative plaque and a EUR 10,000 cheque to support and develop their school’s educational activities; additional awards are предусмотрed for local and national finalist schools and for the best sketch submitted by Italian schools abroad. Registration applications must be submitted by 14 March 2025 and banknote designs must be submitted by 28 March 2025; participation details are set out in the initiative’s call for applications.
