The Central Bank of Nepal has signed a memorandum of understanding with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) under which IFC will provide technical assistance to support the development of climate finance in Nepal, including a climate finance strategy and an implementation roadmap. The work programme includes preparing a framework to support phased implementation of the strategy and delivering training and capacity-building activities for the Central Bank of Nepal and the broader financial sector. The initiative is intended to help address climate-related financial risks and promote the mobilisation of financial resources for climate adaptation. The project is set to run until September 2028.
