The Capital Markets Board of Türkiye hosted the International Organization of Securities Commissions Assessment Committee meeting at the Borsa Istanbul campus on July 8 and 9, bringing together nearly 30 participants from committee member jurisdictions and international stakeholder bodies. The meeting focused on how member jurisdictions are assessed against the IOSCO Objectives and Principles of Securities Regulation, with discussions centered on assessment methodology, self-assessment processes and capacity-building work. Detailed discussions covered work under the IOSCO Standards Implementation and Monitoring project, which is used to track adherence to IOSCO standards, as well as the thematic review of the Crypto and Digital Assets Recommendations, the methodology for assessing that review and the Evaluators Workshop. The Capital Markets Board of Türkiye also noted that the Assessment Committee, in which it has participated since the committee's establishment, is one of IOSCO's two main policy committees and plays a role in promoting consistent application of the IOSCO principles across jurisdictions.
