The Central Bank of Liberia has launched an enhanced digital collateral registry to support secured lending and expand access to finance. The platform allows borrowers to register movable and immovable property as collateral and gives lenders greater transparency when assessing and enforcing secured credit. The registry interoperates with national databases, including those of the Liberia Land Authority and National Identification Registry. It builds on the original registry established in 2014 and complements the modernization of Liberia’s Credit Reference System under the LIFT Project. The central bank urged financial institutions to adopt the enhanced framework and businesses to use it to access financing.
