The sites present themselves as a “Buyer Online Protection” service offering refunds, unauthorized transaction reporting and support for online transactions made through the Faster Payment System. The websites have no affiliation with Hong Kong Interbank Clearing Limited or its business. The clearing operator does not normally provide Faster Payment System services directly to individuals or proactively contact them and urged the public to remain vigilant, protect personal information and report suspected fraud to the police.
