The Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan announced that, from 2 March 2026, the exchange of national currency notes and coins will be provided through designated operator banks, alongside changes to where the public can access the central bank’s cash services in Baku. International Bank of Azerbaijan and Kapital Bank will perform the exchange service free of charge across their branch networks, and the Central Bank’s cash office at Bulbul Prospekti 27 in Baku will cease operations. Sales of jubilee and commemorative issues and handover of items purchased via the central bank’s online sales system will be carried out at its administrative building at Rashid Behbudov street 90 in Baku on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 to 12:00. Sales and buybacks of investment issues will continue via sales agents Bank of Baku and TuranBank, and the central bank reiterated that exchanges can also be requested at its regional offices, other banks (including local branches of foreign banks) and the national postal operator under its existing rules.

From 2 March 2026, the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan will transfer national currency exchanges to designated operator banks, with International Bank of Azerbaijan and Kapital Bank offering the service free. The central bank's Baku cash office will close, and jubilee and commemorative sales will occur at its administrative building. Exchanges can also be requested at regional offices, other banks, and the national postal operator.
