The Monetary Authority of Macao reported that it and Portugal's Insurance and Pension Funds Supervisory Authority co-organised the two-week 2026 training programme of the Association of Lusophone Insurance Supervisors, bringing together a conference, technical training and a study visit focused on insurance supervision. The programme ended with certificates being awarded to 18 supervisors from Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Macao, Mozambique, Sao Tome and Principe, and Timor-Leste. The opening session included a conference on modern international financial supervision, with a keynote speech by Xiao Yuanqi, Deputy Director of the National Financial Regulatory Administration, on insurance supervisory experience. Portuguese trainers seconded by ASF delivered sessions on implementation of International Financial Reporting Standard 17 (IFRS 17) Insurance Contracts, while professionals nominated by the International Actuarial Association provided training on actuarial supervision. The Monetary Authority of Macao and the Financial Development Bureau of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin also organised a three-day study visit to the cooperation zone and Zhuhai covering technological innovation and the development of traditional Chinese medicine in mainland China.
