The Central Bank of Iraq announced it has adopted a project to launch a virtual bank in Iraqi universities, described as the first virtual bank to be hosted by Iraqi universities, with the initial stage to be implemented at Al-Muthanna University. The project is intended to provide students and graduates with practical banking experience by simulating the work of financial institutions and international best practices, while also encouraging financial institutions operating in Iraq to expand access to financial services across all geographical regions to support financial inclusion plans. The initiative was presented alongside a comprehensive exhibition held on the margins of Al-Muthanna University’s second scientific conference on artificial intelligence and labour market requirements, which included pavilions for banks and companies.
